This workshop will explore the fundamentals of mindfulness meditation, its benefits, and how to bring the practice into asana/movement. You will learn how Mindfulness helps you to manage stress, calm the nervous system, create emotional resilience, strengthen your focus, and deepen your asana practice. There will be a presentation and discussion, followed by a practice session.

Mindfulness has become a popular buzzword because of its proven usefulness in our hectic modern lifestyles to reduce stress and promote well-being. But what is it really, what can it do for you, and what does it have to do with yoga practice? In this introduction to mindfulness workshop, Jonathan will skillfully illuminate the origins and methods of this practice, and how it relates to yoga. Then you will have the opportunity to experience it for yourself in practice.

Jonathan has been teaching mindfulness to yoga students in Norway for 15 years and has specialized in how to integrate mindfulness into asana practice, developing the first Mindful Yoga Training. As a co-therapist in Maja Thune’s Therapeutic Yoga TT, he is well-versed in the healing applications of mindfulness and yoga in addressing emotional and mental imbalances. Now, as a Master Trainer at Hiyoga, he brings these mindfulness practices to the studio for the first time. With his natural warmth, presence, and humor, Jonathan presents these ancient techniques in a an easy-to-understand and practical way.

 

Jonathan Weber, 500 ERYT, MSBR/MBCT instructor, yoga therapist, certified Mindful Hatha Yoga teacher, and Master Trainer at Hiyoga. With over 30 years of personal practice in yoga and meditation, Jonathan is a pioneering teacher of Mindful yoga. He has been leading international workshops, retreats, and trainings in mindfulness and yoga for over 10 years.
