Part 1: Animal Moves & Strength

This first part of the workshops is the most fun and explorative one. We want to shift our perspective from standing and walking on our two legs, to playing with different forms of walking like an animal. Not only is it a good way to break out of our custom movement patterns, it is also incredibly liberating!

We will go through how to warm up and build strength in the wrists and shoulders, building a solid foundation for inversions. This is a crucial part in keeping the longevity of your practice.

The second half of the workshop will focus on strength drills for core, arms, and hip flexors - specific for handstand and jump throughs. You will learn the most effective exercises to build the strength and stability you need to bring that effortless “float” into your yoga practice, and one day be able to press up to a handstand.

Part 2: Finding Stability in Inversions

This workshop is for the inversion lovers! You will be led through a flow class incorporating various arm balances and core exercises to properly warm the body up for more challenging poses.

The last part of the workshop will be more workshop style, going through different variations in headstand, forearm stand, and handstand. You can expect individual guidance according to your level, wether you are using a wall for balance or freestanding.

Part 3: Handstand & Cardio

The icing on the cake! Handstand lovers and almost-handstanders (still wobbly) will truly love this workshop.

There are many ways to enter into a handstand. We will explore a number of them in this flow class. Both fun and challenging, you will definitely break a sweat in this invigorating flow! There will aslo be elements of ballistic stretching and PNF-stretching, especially beneficial for those wanting to learn how to press handstand.

You are expected to have an adequate understanding of the foundations for handstand at this level. Either by attending the two previous workshops or self-taught.
